Human Genome Project Resources

  • The Human Genome (NCBI) - web site strives to offer an integrated, one-stop, genomic information resource for data. Links include BLAST, dbSNP, Homologene, LocusLink, RefSeq and UniGene.
  • The National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) - leads the Human Genome Project for the National Institutes of Health, conducts cutting edge research in its laboratories and supports genomic science worldwide.
  • UK Human Genome Mapping Project Resource Center - provides access to leading-edge tools for research in the fields of genomics, genetics and functional genomics.
  • The Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute - is responsible for sequencing one-third of the human genome. To make the sequence a valuable resource, we provide analysis through mapping (finding landmarks on chromosomes, for example, radiation hybrid maps), polymorphism analysis (to study variation in the genetic code between individuals as in our work with SNP consortium), annotation (to identify and predict genes, as in Ensembl), study of mutations that predispose to disease including cancer, experimental study of genes using large-scale analysis (such as microarrays in S. pombe and research collaborations to understand the role of genes.
  • Human Chromosome Launchpad - is provided as a single-source launchpad to information about each human chromosome.
